Who are we?
Harmony of the Way is a Nyingma-Rabbaniyya Sufi School. A Sufi school is a place where we learn from other people not just books or screens. The name refers to the practices passed down from teacher to student. The Nyingma is a school of Indian mysticism. The word literally means 'old school' referring to it's ancient lineage. It's deepest teaching is the understanding that there is only One Reality. The path to awakening is called the straight or direct path of the Great Encompassment in Tibetan called 'Dzogchen'. Rabbaniyya means Lordly path and the path of the Divine Heart. It comes from the teaching of the great Sufi Master Sheikh Nazim. He urged Lama Noah to drop identifying with names such as 'Sufi' or 'Naqshbandi' and be a lover of the Divine in actuality. This school is a true interfaith school. Interfaith paths are referred to as the 'Perennial Tradition'. We affirm and practice the oneness of the Divine. Our practices come from Buddhist and Islamic sources and lineages. Thus it is non-sectarian and one may be a Buddhist, Muslim, Christian or Atheist to attend our classes. Read more.
